Pender Painting #3.JPG

Sorting Ground, Pender Island 2014

In the fall of 2013, I was invited to set up my studio in a friend’s cottage on Pender Island.

Set up in the garden for over a week, visual relationships revealed themselves to me over time.  A West Coast garden, overgrown as this one is, provided endless textural, colour and linear relationships that changed constantly with the weather and light. As I work, I am very conscious of my memories of previous natural phenomena and their relationship to my work.
